They want to build a new funeral center. It will be at Masjid al-Momineen on Ash Street, near Whalley New Road. They need £400,000 and have over £320,000.

Volunteers are holding a fun day on Monday for kids and families. The event happens at the Ivy Venue on Newton Street, running from eleven in the morning to seven at night.

The fun day is free for everyone and will feature crafts and Islamic clothes. Expect treats, beauty stalls, and a barbecue. Everyone from the area is welcome to come.

The new center helps families with funeral rites, and the mosque says it’s open to everyone. COVID made funeral services hard, as their facilities did not meet standards. They could not hold funerals for their own imams who died from COVID.

The project fixes these problems and provides better funeral facilities now and later. The building includes a Ghusl khaana for washing the body, and also has a shrouding area. There are rooms for both men and women there too.
