Two major motorways near Bristol are closed following the discovery of human remains on the M4.
Drivers reported seeing a body around 6:40 PM. This happened on the M4 between junctions 20 and 21 near Almondsbury and Awkley.
The M4 and M48 near Bristol will likely stay closed until early Sunday, police say. Avon and Somerset Police are handling it. They are trying to identify the person and find their family.
An investigation will figure out how it happened. Police need your help if you were there and traveled on that part of the M4.

National Highways says the M4 is closed both ways between junctions 20 and 22. The M48 is also closed in both directions between junction 1 and the M4.
