Former church in Cheshire to become short term care home for adults with disabilities.

They will convert the old church building into a short-term care facility. Seven bedrooms will house adults with learning disabilities.
The church is at Main Road and Chapel Street and was built way back in 1875. Trustees voted to close it unanimously in 2020 due to low membership, as only eight people remained as members.
A statement said Gen Z prefers online activities, which led to falling attendance. Young people use social media more, instead of going to church.
The care facility will give residents relief, allowing them to take a short break there. Each resident stays three or four nights and will have a personalized care plan. Residents must be over eighteen and need to have learning disabilities.
The building has private bedrooms with bathrooms, two lounges, and a cinema room. The plan includes a kitchen and bathroom, and locals can use the garden and library.
The planning officer approved the change, noting that Moulton has St. Stephens Church, only 400m away from the Methodist church. St. Stephens offers support to ex-members.
Locals can use St. Stephen’s facilities and the Royal British Legion hall. Previous plans wanted to build three homes, but neighbors worried about extra parking issues.
