Rishi Sunak views Marrick Priory’s upgrade plans, including new facilities and spaces, aiming to serve schools and community groups better.

Mr. Sunak examined plans for updates and new facilities at Marrick Priory, including rooms and changing spaces. Jim Gleeve, the head of the center, shared his vision to better serve schools and community groups. The Friends of Marrick Priory also met Sunak to discuss fundraising for expansion too.
The project is estimated to cost £1 million. Sunak joined students in team activities, as they were there on a trip having fun during his visit.
The center offers many engaging activities available, such as archery, climbing, and kayaking. Sunak played team-building games with them during their last day there. Then, they showed him around the center’s buildings.
Sunak described his visit as very inspiring, witnessing kids learning new skills, gaining confidence, and practicing teamwork in an exceptional setting. He said the plans ensure Marrick Priory’s future, where children can escape their normal routines. They can connect with nature easily and build qualities they’ll use later.
Jim Gleeve expressed happiness in welcoming Rishi, noting his rapport with the kids and his enjoyment completing challenges with them. Gleeve showed Sunak the buildings. Sunak heard about accommodation plans and learned about their ideas for a caving space.
Vinny Turner, the leader of St Teresa’s Catholic School, stated their happiness in meeting Sunak. She said children had a thrilling experience, leaving them with a visit they will remember fondly.
