Darren Bailey opens Mr Baileys Candy Cave in Harrogate. Expect trendy treats and American sweets.
Darren already owns sweet shops in Halifax and Hipperholme. People seem to like them a lot online.
Darren said he sold sweets at markets before and has been in the pet business for 18 years. He enjoys selling treats. He and his wife opened a sweet shop four years ago, and they really enjoyed running it.
Darren says it will be a small shop with cool and trendy items. Many of the sweets are popular on TikTok. They sell candy, drinks, and American treats. They also have their own brand called Two for Five, where you get two large bags for five pounds, like bon bons and jelly babies.
He’s opening it by accident, really; the couple owns Paw Prints Pet Store right next door. They initially wanted to make the pet store bigger, but building design made that hard. So, Darren made a sweet shop instead, with its own entrance.
Darren says Harrogate doesn’t have anything like it yet, which he thinks is good. One day, they may open in York. He wants a pet shop and a sweet shop there and they are looking at locations now.
