Chelsea, 33, with MS, runs half marathon for her nephew Freddie, 9, who has cerebral palsy, raising funds for his care.

She plays football to stay in shape, and this run is her first long one. She wants to help Freddie, and she also seeks a personal challenge. Chelsea trains with two eight-mile runs each week.
Chelsea hopes to finish in under two hours. No matter the time, she is proud that she challenges herself and helps Freddie. Freddie’s mom is Sarah, age 38, and she works as a nurse.
Freddie uses a wheelchair, and he cannot control his head or core well. His arms and legs are very stiff. He cannot use his hands or chew, and he cannot sit up or speak.
He enjoys TV and swimming. He likes holidays and playing with Max, the dog. Freddie is a sociable and happy boy who needs ongoing physiotherapy. It keeps him comfortable and mobile.
The family always raises funds for Freddie because he needs new equipment as he grows. He also needs more therapy. People have raised nearly £75,000 for him so far through many events over nine years.
Tree of Hope supports Freddie’s family by helping families fundraise for healthcare needs, because the NHS often cannot cover these costs. Becky Andrew is Tree of Hope’s CEO.
Becky wishes Chelsea well in her run and said that many people support Freddie’s family. You can donate to Freddie’s fund online. Visit the Tree of Hope website to help.
