White sticky stuff covers the beach from Alum Chine to Hengistbury Head. Council investigates the unidentified material.

A few even guessed ambergris! Turns out, no one knows for sure yet. The local council is trying to figure it out. BCP Council says it’s “unidentified” now.
They advise you not to touch the stuff. Also, keep your pets away from it just in case. A woman named Patricia saw it, then reported it. She spotted it at Alum Chine on February 22.
She said her family had to wash their clothes. The stuff got all over her daughter’s feet. Patricia also said the stuff has a bad smell. Another woman, Julie-Anne, also reported it. She saw it at Hengistbury Head on February 23.
Julie-Anne heard the council thinks it’s paint. She hopes the Environment Agency finds out where it came from. Some people think it smells like glue. Richard Herrett is part of the council. He said they told the Environment Agency. They’re also doing their own investigation.
Signs warn people about the stuff. You should avoid touching it, Richard stated. Plus, keep kids and pets away from the area. The council asks for your patience while they check.
The Environment Agency knows about it now. They wait for the test results. Then, they’ll decide what to do next.
