Nando’s proposes replacing Poundland with a new storefront, outdoor seating, and improved access. Croydon Council will decide.

People in the area have different opinions. Some like the idea. Others don’t. Twenty-two people object. Twenty people support it.
The applicant says it will look nicer and they believe access will improve. It may even ease street traffic jams. They’re moving the entrance to the unit’s corner. The current windows and frames get replaced. Poundland signs leave. People will see inside better.
The applicant says they invest big in the location. They plan work inside and outside. Crews will fix the wraparound roof. This should improve the look of the item.
A new stepped entry is planned. They’ll add plants and a deck. An outdoor seating area helps, too. Outside seating matches floor height inside. The roof will cover it.
The design creates a nice place to eat. It gives an open view. The signs will be simple and small. They include a face sign and menu box.
They submitted another request. It deals with machines behind the building. McDonald’s thought about opening there before, but they changed their mind.
Croydon Council will check Nando’s plan soon. They’ll decide about the location’s future.
The deadline for public input is March 6, 2025. You can email your thoughts by emailing dmcomments@croydon.gov.uk. There’s also a website option.
