Investigation starts after Lucy Harrison, 23, died in Prosper, Texas. A suspect has been identified; DA to review.

An inquest started at Warrington Coroners’ Court. Victoria Davies, the area coroner for Cheshire, said Lucy was shot in the USA while on vacation. A Texas detective confirmed her identity and asked for an inquest, stating the death was from an ‘unnatural cause.’
The inquest was put on hold and is now set for March 28. A criminal probe is ongoing in America. The Prosper Police gave a report and are looking at ‘criminally negligent homicide.’
They have identified a suspect in her death. The case went to the Collin County District Attorney, who will review it for further action. The report says there were six witnesses, and six police officers responded to the incident.
Todd Rice spoke for the town of Prosper, saying they sent the case for review. The District Attorney will consider further steps. Rice stated they don’t comment on referred cases due to ongoing investigations or lawsuits.
Coroner Davies sent condolences to Lucy’s family, who were at the inquest. Her mother and boyfriend gave a statement, issuing it using Cheshire Police. Lucy’s family said she lived life fiercely, loving and being loved deeply.
She loved to travel but also enjoyed home. She could be dramatic and bold. She was thriving, which comforts them, although they are heartbroken by the loss. The family asks for donations to Peace & Mind UK, a Warrington charity aiding youth mental health.
Lucy’s mom supports teaching mindfulness. Donations will fund teacher training.
