New launderette approved for Nelson’s Bradshaw Street, offering needed service with limited operating hours.

The applicant, Jahangir Singh, thinks it will help the area. He stated it offers a needed service. The council approved the plan, but with limits.
Singh wanted to open early until late each day. The council said the launderette can’t open that long. Now, it opens at 8 AM and closes at 8 PM, Monday to Saturday. Sunday hours are 10 AM to 4 PM. They aim to avoid noise issues for neighbors nearby.
The launderette will have several machines. It includes five to ten washers and twelve dryers. They will insulate the walls and secure the machines. This reduces noise felt by nearby residents.
The council’s health team had no comments about the plans. The highways team also didn’t object. They said it won’t affect road safety or traffic.
A planning officer reported that neighbors aren’t worried. The change will serve locals well. It will also keep the area’s look.
The plan shouldn’t disturb neighbors too much. Privacy should not be affected either. The area’s history will stay safe. Work on the launderette must start within three years. The work must follow the council’s approved plans.
