Select Car Leasing donates VW ID.3 to St Michael’s Hospice, supporting patient care in north Hampshire amid funding challenges.

The Operations Director, Chris Griffiths, expressed his thankfulness, calling the car “game-changing.” He emphasized that the hospice is a special place. People often learn about it during hard times and are grateful for Select Car Leasing’s support.
The new VW ID.3 makes the hospice team’s work simpler and provides a safe and reliable vehicle. This will allow staff to avoid using their own cars which is helpful when visiting patients.
Select Car Leasing has been supporting the hospice since 2021, initially donating a Vauxhall Grandland X. The company, based in Reading, aims to continue assisting the hospice team.
Mark Tongue, chief executive at Select, stated that the hospice gives compassionate care. They help many people and families. Select staff have been touched by the care and want to keep supporting the hospice.
The hospice is currently facing money problems, costing £15,000 daily to operate. As the NHS provides less than 16 percent of the funds, they depend on donations and charity shops and have ten shops in north Hampshire.
Mr. Griffiths also explained their essential role. They must provide the best care, and if the hospice closed, the NHS could not replace it. While funding issues are challenging, the community provides great support.
