Winsford gets a new 24-hour McDonald’s drive-thru at Winsford Gateway, creating jobs and improving customer access.

The plan says this restaurant will create jobs. They expect 120 jobs, both full and part-time. Construction will also create around 375 jobs. They will have 36 parking spots. There will also be eight spaces for bicycles.
McDonald’s already has a restaurant nearby. It’s about 2km southwest at Wharton Retail Park. They want a second drive-thru restaurant. It should help the other location. This will improve things for customers.
Winsford Town Council weren’t too happy. They worried about health issues. A planning officer looked into it. They said the site isn’t near schools. Kids probably won’t hang out there.
The restaurant will use the existing access point. That’s on Road Six. People can use footpaths to get there. They will add pedestrian crossings. These will keep people safe.
It will prioritize walkers in the parking lot. It will also help people cross the drive-thru. They plan another zebra crossing close by. The drive-thru hopes to pull in people. They want to attract folks driving by.
It’s convenient for locals and businesses too. The report says it’s a good development. It supports economic investment. It should improve the area. It will benefit workers and visitors.
