Hanham Road underpass gets a revamp! A new mural, created with local students, will brighten the area.

Artist Kizzi Bennett, from Kizzi B Creative, will work with twelve students from Beaucroft College. The students are learning arts awards. These post-16 students will collaborate with Kizzi to create a mural together.
Kizzi draws ideas from nature, loves animals and outdoor adventures. She grew up by England’s south coast. Forests, sea, and the countryside inspire her. She cares about the environment, and wants to use recycled paints and eco-friendly materials.
Laura Byford, Beaucroft’s visual arts leader, is excited about the project. This is an incredible chance for the students. The project teaches creative skills. Students also develop valuable life skills; they all have special needs.
Fiona Harwood chairs Wimborne BID. They put the old wall wrap in the underpass, which sadly reached its end. They are happy to drive the project forward. This enhances Wimborne, making it beautiful and a nice place to live and visit.
Jeff Hart, the town mayor, helped pick the artist. He praised Wimborne BID for making it happen. He’s happy the school is working with an artist to create something new for the community. Staff and students are excited to create art.
They will decide on a mural theme soon, and painting should begin in May. People can follow their progress online, as they’ll post updates and time-lapse videos.
