A new venue, Corner Corner, featuring music, food and even a farm is approved before demolition of shopping center.

Southwark Council approved plans for the venue at a meeting on Wednesday, February 5. British Land is the developer for Corner Corner, which will feature an event space, a food hall, and an indoor farm growing food.
The farm will grow herbs and salad leaves for the food hall. Broadwick, who also ran Printworks, a nearby club, will manage Corner Corner.
Printworks closed in 2023, but may reopen later as part of the Canada Water project. Corner Corner will host low-key events, specifically jazz and other music. Council documents state it won’t be a concert hall because noise levels do not allow loud music.
Corner Corner might open until 3 AM on weekends; this was approved in principle, although they still need a license from the council. Broadwick stated they don’t plan to open that late often, but the late hours offer future flexibility. A British Land person said it will create jobs for both construction and when it is open.
The committee approved the plan overall, agreeing that it was a good plan. One councillor even joked about the jazz music option.
