A boost for a London to Gobowen rail service without needing public money.

It would be “open access,” meaning no government money. The train will stop at many towns, including Gobowen, Shrewsbury, Telford, Wolverhampton, and Darlaston. Walsall, Coleshill Parkway, Nuneaton, and Milton Keynes are also included.
The Department of Transport sees good things. This new service could help many areas: North Wales, the West Midlands, and London. They stated this in their latest review.
However, they want more study. Officials need to check the train’s operation and see how it fits with current trains that already run into Euston station.
A Wrexham Council member, David Bithell, shared his thoughts, noting that things are going well, and he believes the plan is moving forward. He and Sam Rowlands met with WSMR.
They feel happy about the application’s progress. Up to five trains daily could run to London, greatly helping North Wales.
Sam Rowlands also supports the train and is glad the Department supports it too. Direct trains from Wrexham to London are key, as improved rail helps the local region and will boost the North Wales economy.
