People can help with a tree-planting project. The Woodland Trust leads the project and Lloyds Banking Group is supporting their efforts. They will plant trees at Hayhills Farm, an area of twenty-one hectares, about ten football fields in size.

They plan to plant over 30,000 native trees, including oak, cherry, birch, and rowan. They will also restore five hectares of old woodland. The community can volunteer and outdoor learning will be available.

This project contributes to the Northern Forest, which aims to plant 50 million trees along the M62, spanning from Liverpool to Hull. The “Grow Back Greener” program funds this initiative, supporting Lloyd’s commitment to plant ten million UK trees by 2030.

Sam Tarrant, from the Woodland Trust, says Hayhills Farm will help both wildlife and carbon storage. He also highlights the opportunity for people to enjoy nature there. The Woodland Trust welcomes community help to plant trees and appreciates Lloyd’s support.

Mark Burton, of Lloyds, states the project demonstrates teamwork and aids nature’s recovery. He emphasizes the enjoyment of outdoor space for locals and mentions a more sustainable future. Lloyds is dedicated to helping Britain succeed.

Robbie Moore, Keighley MP, visited the site to observe the progress. He believes it will strengthen the community, aid wildlife, and provide locals with green space and learning opportunities.
