Department of Transport sees potential in WSMR’s plan for a direct Wrexham-London train service.

This train line is from WSMR. It won’t need government money. The service would stop at several towns, including Gobowen and Shrewsbury.
Telford, Wolverhampton, and Darlaston are also stops. Walsall, Coleshill, and Nuneaton will also have stations, as well as Milton Keynes.
The Department of Transport sees good points in the proposed service. It could help North Wales and the West Midlands, and they think London would also benefit.
However, they need to check how it will work and ensure it fits well with current Euston trains.
Councillor Bithell said things are going well. Sam Rowlands and he recently met with WSMR, and they are happy with the progress.
Up to five trains could run daily. This could greatly help North Wales.
Sam Rowlands supports this train service and wants direct trains from Wrexham to London. He is glad the department is positive.
Wrexham is the biggest town in North Wales. Better trains to other areas help the economy.
