The Newbury mayor checked out a Speen housing project. Andy Moore visited David Wilson Homes before Lapwing Green’s near completion, which features 118 homes.

Andy Moore toured the site, joined by Campbell Gregg and Matt Barker from David Wilson Homes, to learn about the new community.

Moore believes the site enhances Newbury’s housing options. He appreciated the company’s attention to detail in building, which respects neighbors, the environment, and the well-being of workers.

Lapwing Green is developed in three phases, offering homes with two to five bedrooms. Forty-seven of these homes will be designated as more affordable. Building commenced in December 2024, with the first homes expected in early spring.

Gregg expressed his enjoyment of the Mayor’s visit to Lapwing Green, which provided a first look at the new community. They plan to soon reveal the first homes, as David Wilson aims to support buyers in acquiring efficient, new homes.

The First Homes scheme is available at Lapwing Green, assisting first-time buyers in getting on the property ladder. This initiative offers up to a 30% discount, with a maximum price of £250,000, applicable to select new properties.
