Four men jailed for conspiring to supply cannabis using drug line and burner phones in Newport.

Nigel Fryer told the court that Mabe led the group. Mabe counted the money and directed the others in their illegal activities. The group frequently bought and sold cannabis, with links to others in the drug chain. Phone messages revealed the regularity of their cannabis sales.
None of the four defendants had prior convictions. Emma Harris explained that Mabe had made a poor decision, believing crime was a swift solution to his debts.
Judge Egan addressed the defendants, stating that their plan was well-run and organized.
Mabe received a 30-month jail sentence, with half to be served in custody before release. Allen and Ley each received 15-month jail sentences. Tyler Allen was sentenced to 10 months in a young offender center. They may be released soon, considering the time they’ve already spent in custody.
The four will face a hearing later in the year regarding the proceeds of their crime.
