Abdul Rahman faces trial for alleged offenses between 2000 and 2013 in Newport, involving multiple young girls.
The trial is at Cardiff Crown Court. The accusers came forward later. They learned Rahman was a convicted offender. He had child sex abuse image charges.
James Wilson is the prosecutor here. He told the jury about Rahman’s past. Rahman admitted those image charges in May 2022. He was sentenced near May’s end. Wilson said this provides context.
The current accusations came to light then. Police learned of them at that time. Wilson says Rahman has a sexual interest in children. He thinks Rahman is guilty of these offenses.
The first charge involves improper assault. Rahman was between 12 and 14 then. He allegedly massaged her legs and vagina. Wilson stated he also touched her. The accuser felt confused about it.
The second charge involves sexual assault. The child was under 13. Rahman was between ages 18 and 20. He allegedly showed himself to her. He grabbed her hand, forcing her touch him.
The third accuser claims he massaged her. Rahman asked her to lower her trousers. He would have been 24 or 25 then. This charge accuses him of inciting sexual activity.
