An 18-year-old Newport man was arrested after police seized crack cocaine in the Gaer area during a drug warrant execution.

Around 7 AM, officers entered a Gaer Vale Avenue home. They found bags of class A drugs there and also seized drug tools and phones.
Police detained an 18-year-old Newport man who may have planned to sell the class A drugs. He will voluntarily answer questions under caution.
Sergeant Paul Turner spoke about the warrant and said tips from the public help them. Investigation work also plays a key role.
