NEWSAR assisted a woman on Moel Famau with a suspected broken ankle. She was transported to the Bwlch Pen Barras car park.

The date was February 19, 2025. The rescue team is called NEWSAR. Police asked them to help a woman, who likely had a broken ankle.
NEWSAR got the call around 2 PM. They gave her medical help right there, splinting her ankle and easing her pain. Then they moved her to a car park, which was located at Bwlch Pen Barras.
An ambulance crew then took over, giving her even more care. NEWSAR are volunteers, working all day, every day.
They cover Flintshire, Denbighshire, and Wrexham. Plus, they also cover parts of Conwy and Powys. They help with mountain rescues and search for missing people.
The team started back in 1979 and connects with the North Wales Mountain Rescue Association. Sometimes, they assist Cheshire and Shropshire.
NEWSAR depends on donations and needs about £30,000 each year. That money pays for equipment, vehicle upkeep, and training for volunteers.
