Nimbuscare seeks permission to keep using its York care site near Tadcaster Road, aiding local patients.

They want to keep the prefab buildings. These buildings started as vaccination spots back in 2020. Nimbuscare also wants two smaller prefab units there.
The area is set for new houses. It is a brownfield site. Council officers suggest approving the plan. It goes to the planning committee.
The extra units hold a mobile screening unit. This unit uses an HGV trailer for local scans. They got a site extension back in 2022. It was for two years.
Council officers say the plan is short term. It will not stop housing development later. The site was Askham Bar Park and Ride. The council plans housing there.
The buildings must go by February 2027 unless they get another extension. Nimbuscare said the center helps patients and eases pressure on local doctors. They provide services closer to people’s homes. This includes tests and chronic care.
Nimbuscare stated this in their November request, stating that patients will have better access. Officers say the site impacts no one and also won’t harm the local area. The area is sheltered from other places nearby.
