Nine fans were arrested following the York City versus Hartlepool United game, amid heightened security and dispersal orders.

City played Hartlepool again recently. Both teams asked fans to behave well, wanting everyone to show respect. Dispersal orders were given near the stadium.
Police patrolled the stadium area and watched the town center. Officers kept an eye on the marina and train station too. Police warned about banning orders for bad behavior.
Police escorted York fans from the train station. The police line led to the stadium. Despite this, nine fans were arrested at the game.
Eight arrested fans supported York, while one fan supported Hartlepool. Two people were arrested for being drunk, and another person had a flare, leading to their arrest.
Someone tried to enter drunk, resulting in their arrest. Another person made a homophobic remark, and police arrested them for that verbal offense.
Four arrests happened at the train station. We contacted British Transport Police to get more details about those arrests.
Police removed some supporters about 15 minutes into the game. Fortunately, York won the game 1-0. Ollie Pearce scored the only goal at 40 minutes.
