Hey, something’s happening in Saundersfoot. People who live on North Close worry about new houses. It involves a planning application for Fan Road.

They went to a council meeting and talked about their worries. The application number is NP/24/0546/FUL. It is for three houses at Penny Farm, and these houses would have two stories.

The residents don’t want access from North Close. They also doubt the sewage system’s capacity. Apparently, it affects 36 future homes.

The council agrees with the residents and voted against the plan as is. Alec Cormack sent a note to the park authority, saying Saundersfoot needs affordable homes. They expected fourteen affordable units in the original plan.

The current plan leaves out affordable housing, but the council trusts PCNPA will fix it. Councillors wanted access via the improved Fan Road. They disagreed with the highway safety assessment, which stated North Close access won’t hurt anyone.

Alec Cormack mentioned a ‘gravel track,’ and residents said it lacks planning permission. North Close is a small, old road that wasn’t made for much traffic. More traffic would endanger children who play outside near their houses.

The park authority will review the plan later, and they will meet as a committee.
