Alistair MacEachen, 23, from Rattray, admitted to repeatedly punching his father in North Kessock during Hogmanay celebrations.

MacEachen, 23, lives in Rattray, Perthshire. He punched his father’s face many times at Roundhouse Court, after returning from a shopping trip.
He pleaded guilty to assault and abusive behavior. The court deferred his sentence, asking for a background report first.
A neighbor heard shouting but couldn’t understand the words. MacEachen left in his car, then came back and fought again, kicking a hole in a wall before someone called the police.
He shouted and swore at his dad, continuing this behavior in the police van. His father sustained bruising and swelling from the assault.
His lawyer said drugs affected his actions. Sheriff Lamont said he should feel ashamed and ordered MacEachen to a social work program.
The sheriff wants a positive report and is giving MacEachen a chance. MacEachen must do a rehabilitation program and return to court on May 1.
