North Wales Police may relocate from its current Colwyn Bay HQ, deemed outdated, seeking a modern, sustainable location.

Louise Emery said police are considering options. They want a more modern building. The police have a project looking at this.
A St Asaph building will return to police in 2028. A contract will end then. Police already use other buildings in St Asaph. These other buildings house many services. These include communications and training. They also include custody and vehicle repair.
Amanda Blakeman spoke about the possible move. She is the North Wales Police chief constable. Police have been at Glan Y Don since 1974. About 250 staff and officers work there now.
She admits some buildings are aging. They aren’t ideal for modern policing needs. The needs are sustainability and cost.
The police force reviews its properties often. The headquarters review is one such process. Blakeman said policing will stay in Colwyn Bay.
