New sticker campaign helps older people avoid scams. It warns people to stop and think before handing over money.

They will give out 2,500 stickers and leaflets. North Wales Police funded this anti-fraud project and these should be placed on front doors. It reminds residents to ignore demands for cash.
The sticker message is direct; “Stop – don’t hand over money!” Report suspected scams by calling 101. Andy Dunbobbin supports this sticker campaign and it protects vulnerable residents across North Wales.
Fraudsters often trick vulnerable people, so remind people to stop and think first. Partners in WASP had reported scam worries, many involving doorstep scams and rogue traders.
These scams increase during winter months. More deliveries lead to more knocks on doors, as do home repairs that often happen due to cold, wet weather. Victoria Lloyd wants older people to feel strong.
She says, “Say no to scammers!” These people are convincing and charming usually, so refusing them can be truly difficult. Scammers change tactics during bad weather, but people must resist all scam types.
Police officers will give stickers out widely soon. They’ll focus on people most at risk from scams. You can also ask for a sticker online by emailing lpscommsafety@northwales.police.uk.
