A North Yorkshire PC is accused of neglecting a sex assault probe after a ’22 domestic incident, facing a misconduct hearing.

He allegedly ignored a serious sexual offense complaint. Also, he might not have listened to information from dispatch. The officer didn’t even alert his supervisors about the alleged offense. That’s according to the misconduct hearing notice.
The victim reported both domestic abuse and a serious assault. They say PC Bray didn’t really consider her concerns then, either. He also allegedly skipped background checks on the suspect, and it seems he didn’t investigate the sexual offense properly.
On the same day, he dealt with a vulnerable person. The accusation is that he skipped routine checks again. Plus, it’s alleged he did not use his authority to help the man.
North Yorkshire Police believe this is serious misconduct. They think that the claims could equal gross misconduct. A hearing is scheduled at headquarters in Northallerton. The hearing begins at 10 AM on Monday, March 3rd.
