Gary Fielding said they are selling Stonecross. It is part of a plan for better building use. The council now has many properties, and some Northallerton offices are not needed.
Services at Stonecross will move to other council buildings. This makes better use of existing space. Selling lets the site get repurposed, and the new use should be beneficial.
The building has three floors and looks like a plus sign from above. Five sections stand slightly off-center, and a square pyramid tops the central atrium.
It has seven ground-floor entrances. The frame might be steel or concrete. The outer walls are red brick and glass, and windows look like the era they come from.
Windows might be steel or aluminum framed. They are mostly rectangular, and staircases have bay windows. The site is about two acres large.
About 140 white-lined spaces make up the parking lot. Agents note that the boundaries are just desired. The whole title is not available now; only a part is.
They suggest buyers check the title themselves. The property sells with all existing rights, including easements and restrictions. Buyers should assess these aspects closely.
Align Surveyors could not find details on site services. Each party must find service information. The site’s rateable value is £246,000 per the Valuation Office Agency.
