Daniel Forsyth of the Northern Scot wins Photographer of the Year at the Highlands and Islands Media Awards in Inverness.
He won Photographer of the Year. The awards took place in Inverness. Judges called him “a consistent performer.” An STV reporter presented the award.
The winning photos had news value. The Duchess of Edinburgh photo stood out. She looked like she enjoyed her drink. Daniel has worked for the Scot his whole career. He is based near Elgin.
People in Moray know him well. Lewis McBlane also won an award. He was named Reporter of the Year. The Northern Scot won Newspaper of the Year. The Inverness Courier won too.
They are a sister paper. They earned Website of the Year. Val Sweeney won Feature Writer of the Year. She works for the Courier.
Annabelle Gauntlett won Young Reporter. She is only 21 years old. Neil MacPhail won a special award. He was named Diageo Journalist of the Year. He worked for the Courier and Press & Journal. He passed away in November. He worked in journalism for fifty years.
