TfL starts work on step-free access at Northolt station, including a new footbridge and lift, aiming for completion by summer 2026.

This station is on the Central line’s West Ruislip branch. Soon, it will have step-free access, allowing easy access from street to platforms. They’re adding boarding ramps too, which will help people board trains.
The platform’s width shrinks during work. Temporary fencing will make it smaller. Station staff will be present to help and keep people safe during busy times. TfL is paying for all the work.
The station’s toilets close in April for upgrades. Also, Leyton station gets similar upgrades soon. Construction begins there next week. They are improving accessibility at both stations.
A local leader said the station is busy and that locals deserve an accessible platform. This connects them to London and beyond. He is happy to see this project moving forward. He thinks it benefits many people.
