Plans include adding eight solar panels and visitor parking near Park Lodge. Application submitted February 5th.

Doonan Architects Ltd. sent the application. It went to Northumberland National Park. They submitted it on February 5th. The parking area will extend the road. This makes a handy spot for drivers. Visitors and delivery vehicles can park there.
The site’s height helps hide things. Stone walls already block the view. This is true from the valley below. They placed solar panels carefully. This uses the sheltered spot well.
They balanced hiding them and avoiding shade. Stone walls won’t block sun in winter. The parking spot is along the lane. It shouldn’t change how the land looks. So, the visual impact will be small.
The panels will sit on the ground. They’ll stand about 1.5 meters tall. Fixings will hold them to the ground. Solar power is now a tiny scale project. It fits the land well. It won’t bother people nearby. Also, it doesn’t overbuild the site.
The parking spaces help visitors. These spaces improve highway safety. Passing cars will now have more room. This makes the highway safer near Park Lodge.
