Canopy Children’s Nursery seeks permission to transform Frogmore House into its fifth location, enhancing safety and play areas.

Now, a nursery wants to move in. Canopy Children’s Nursery applied for permission. They want to change the place, making it their fifth nursery location.
They plan to fix it up by replacing the flooring and repairing walls and ceilings. They will also make some small changes inside. The main reason is to make it safe for kids needing adaptable spaces. They will add safety features like fences, new flooring, and new electrical sockets.
A new kitchen is part of the plan to help with feeding the children. They also want a new reception area, plus several other little fixes.
Canopy nurseries exist in Wembley Park, Shrewsbury, St Albans, and Potters Bar. They teach kids to be curious and focus on confident communication. Independent learning and inquisitive thinking are key also.
A developer paid for the 2020 renovation. Watford Council made it a condition, as it allowed a Lidl and 92 flats nearby. The building was a merchant’s house dating back to the 18th century with a big garden and gated parking. The office space spans three floors.
They plan to change the garden into a play area while keeping the design similar. Some landscaping must go, though, as new secure fences will protect children.
The mayor called it “really important,” and it even won an architecture award. You can comment on the plan until March 21; after that, the council decides, either approving or refusing it.
