A £167,500 project brings new CCTV, better lighting, and weed control to improve safety and health for residents.

They got money: £167,500. The council gave £141,000 with partners helping. It will improve the area for everyone living there. This means better safety and health.
Since the start, they worked hard. They added more CCTV cameras. Lighting got better, too. Weeds are getting controlled better now.
Four new cameras went live in December. They watch Marlescroft Way and Highwood Lane. Also, they monitor Lower Alderton Hall Lane. More cameras are coming by March 2025. These will be near the community hall.
They checked the lights in 2023. Repairs and new lights finish by summer 2025. The estate now has less weeds, and people manage them twice each year.
Bushes and hedges got trimmed nicely. They added bins for trash and dog waste. Graffiti is gone from walls now. New signs help people find their way around.
Patrols increased about dog poop. They want people to follow the rules. Youth Unity is helping with young people in the area. They have worked on several initiatives.
They did sports and made podcasts. They had video games, too. People discuss starting a youth club soon. This would be at the Community Hall.
Spark2Life teaches kids in schools. They talk about safety and respect, Communication is a lesson they include. ARC theatre visits primary schools, too.
They work with years 5 and 6. They focus on relationships and online safety. A defibrillator is coming, and they plan to install it outside. It’s a kit that includes a bleed control device.
A Community Safety Day happens March 8. It runs from 10 AM to 2 PM. They will talk to people about their worries, and give tips about crime prevention.
