Jonathan and Lee are taking on the Haworth Hobble ultramarathon. They will run the race as a ‘two-man pony’ to support Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice.

Now, they’ll be ponies again to support the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice. This time, they’re not using a bike and will run a very tough race, the Haworth Hobble ultramarathon.
The race is 32 miles over rough land, crossing moors and fells. Jonathan said they planned this after last year’s ride, with training beginning then for the new pony challenge.
They ran as the pony in training runs and completed some 5km park runs. They increased the distance this time, as this ultramarathon is in winter and has over 1,300 metres of climbing.
The Haworth Hobble is local to them and to Manorlands. They’ve both done it before, but never as a two-man pony!
The race is in its 44th year, starting and ending in Haworth. It goes through Bronte country and more. Runners run around Todmorden and Hebden Bridge. Jonathan and Lee want to finish in ten hours.
The March 8 race sold out fast after entries opened last October. It attracts runners from everywhere. The race organiser said a pony has never finished it.
They are raising money for Manorlands hospice, which is very important to them and to people in Worth Valley. This is their way to help it.
They have a fundraising page online with a goal of £3,200, £100 for each mile. They would love to reach that goal, and any donation helps them a lot.
