Reopening the Oasis Leisure Centre in 2026 is possible, taking around 18 months after planning approval.

SevenCapital has a lease on the building. Their chief executive, Damien Siviter, attended the meeting and discussed plans for the center.
It’s been closed since 2020, and he couldn’t answer planning application questions because council members sit on the planning committee. This limited what he could say.
Councilor Adamcova asked about the 2026 goal. Mr. Siviter said it will likely take 18 months after approval, so reopening in 2026 remains possible.
Adamcova then asked about potential problems. Siviter named the operator, contractor, and finance. He said they are close to choosing an operator, and it’s likely Better, the prior operator.
SevenCapital handles the finances and they have no debt on the center. However, they can’t pick a contractor yet, as it must wait until planning approval.
Councilor Dan Adams inquired about the pool’s plans. Siviter stated a pool plan is coming soon, explaining they waited for public input first. They discussed specifics like wave machines and slides, and the feedback changed their initial ideas.
The company wants to refurbish the center and also wants to build 700 flats. This would finance the refurbishment but no decisions have come regarding these applications yet.
