Plans approved to convert vacant city center office space into four rental apartments above the Victorian Market.

The council approved the plans. Gokhan Turkmenoglu got permission. He can convert the space above the market. This building faces Queensgate.
We don’t know the rental type. Will they be permanent or holiday lets? The council thinks it’s holiday rentals. The application calls them “long-term stays.” Short-term guests could also stay.
Anyway, the office at 11 Queensgate is changing. They will make four apartments. That’s what the council decided, you see.
The layout inside will change. Two apartments have separate rooms. They have bedrooms and living/kitchen rooms. Two others have open layouts. Every apartment has a bathroom with a shower.
The building is listed, so changes are tricky. The outside facing Queensgate stays the same. The back wall will get vents. This meets ventilation standards, I learn.
The agents said the offices were empty. They haven’t been used for years. So maybe it’s a great change for everyone. They said the idea matches the council’s plan. The council wants homes in the city center. My client wants to keep the building as it is.
They will keep cornices and doors if they can. Also, windows will get extra glass for noise. The plan won’t change the Queensgate side. The council said the changes were okay. They won’t hurt the building. Changes inside are okay too. The outside will get paint and service as needed. The building’s history is safe.
They think the plan is fine. It follows the rules for that area, you know. So, it looks like it all should be well.
