A former police officer, Scott Norman, faces scrutiny. He worked for Thames Valley Police in Oxford. People allege he misused police records after retirement. He reportedly accessed records for personal reasons, involving his girlfriend and her ex-husband, who were going through a divorce at the time.

He is accused of influencing a suspect, wanting them to make a false claim targeted at someone whose records he illegally viewed. He supposedly used this info for himself and someone else. His actions, if true, break police conduct rules.

Authorities consider this gross misconduct. The ex-husband sought a hearing for two years. He claims only an IOPC complaint secured a date. Thames Valley Police declined to comment during the active probe.

A public hearing will occur February 25 in Kidlington. It should last two days. Norman is among several officers facing panels. Past hearings resulted in dismissals or would have.

These cases saw delays between claims and hearings. One incident happened five years before its hearing. Charlotte Morris was fired from TVP. She lied about wrecking a police car, saying she avoided an animal during the crash that happened in Berkshire in August 2023.

She hit a parked BMW. Morris admitted careless driving in court. She received points, a fine, costs, and a surcharge. That misconduct hearing led to her dismissal.

Connor Davis, another ex-officer, made inappropriate remarks, targeting colleagues and the public. He would have been fired, but he quit right before his misconduct hearing occurred, regarding his actions between 2022 and 2023.

The hearing ended quickly after he resigned. The panel decided he would have been dismissed anyway because of his conduct breaches. He violated standards of respect, equality, and authority, and his actions were also considered discreditable.
