The inquest raises concerns about support for a former chef in Oxford, who died due to alcohol intoxication.

An inquest about his death happened in Oxford recently. He was homeless before finding housing, and Homeless Oxfordshire supported him. His neighbor, Elizabeth Mills, saw him last.
Elizabeth stated she saw Adam with a black eye and contacted Homeless Oxfordshire with worries. Support workers found him dead the next day after her call. She thinks quicker action might have saved him and stated that Homeless Oxfordshire is overwhelmed.
A doctor said alcohol intoxication caused his death; the coroner called it an alcohol-related death.
After Adam’s death, his mom started a fundraiser for The Porch, an Oxford charity. People donated over £675, exceeding the £500 goal.
Adam’s mom said The Porch helped him a bunch, as he planned to volunteer there later on. The Porch aids vulnerable adults with homelessness issues, offering meals, laundry, showers, and mental health help. They also assist with addiction plus finding housing.
During the inquest, the coroner shared his mother’s statement. It mentioned Adam was a funny, gentle, and well-liked guy, but he was less reliable while drinking alcohol.
After the inquest, his mom shared a loving tribute, calling him a loving son and good friend. Homeless Oxfordshire won’t comment further on this case.
