Residents voice concerns about height, traffic, and flood risk despite plan changes for the Botley Road site.

Nearby residents initially worried that the building’s height would block sunlight. After hearing these concerns, the developer changed the plans. Despite these changes, a few people still have concerns, and the Oxford Preservation Trust still objects.
Adrian Rosser, a local resident, is glad that concerns about flooding were addressed. However, he questions how the developers can guarantee no hazards will be on-site, given that labs typically use hazardous materials. He also believes sunlight will still be reduced in nearby homes and wants the project rejected.
Iain Tullis, who lives on Abbey Road, thinks the building is too big. He is worried about increased traffic on Botley Road and a rise in flood risk. He also believes the building will reduce water absorption into the ground and that shops will be lost.
Gareth Roberts, who works for British Land, aims to create a science hub for businesses to collaborate. He states that they listened to feedback and want the project to positively impact the area. He says they will continue working with the community.
