Ben, also called Ben, disappeared on January 26. He was last seen near Cripley Road and Cripley Place. This was around 12:50 a.m.

Police searched Oxford’s waterways for a month. Yesterday, police confirmed they found a body and believe it is Ben.

Sunday morning had a strong police presence with six police vehicles on Mill Lane. Police taped off an area near Iffley Lock, where an officer stood guard.

Police have not shared Ben’s last name, but people have been sharing tributes to him. Layla Moran, a local MP, said the community was worried, as many people helped search for Ben. She sends thoughts to his family and friends.

Friends and locals also sent tributes. Jane Hainsworth wished Ben would be found safe, mentioning his young face and red hair and offering sympathy to his family.

Someone who knew Ben from birdwatching said he taught them many things about birds, adding that they will miss his smile and humor greatly.

A family friend said his death is heartbreaking because he was kind, joyful, and energetic, bringing laughter into their lives. They send condolences to Ben’s family.

Another local sends condolences to Ben’s family, saying they will remember his smile and that he will be missed by many people. The Oxford Mail asked the University of Oxford for a statement.
