A reading program in Oxfordshire receives £1,500 to train more volunteers, benefiting students.

Volunteers work with kids aged five to eleven, providing one-on-one reading support. The charity trains and supports these reading helpers.
The charity has many volunteers working in more than 100 primary schools across Oxfordshire. Each week, they help over 600 students.
Elaine Adams, who helps run the charity, said she was happy about the donation because it lets them train more volunteers. This allows more Oxfordshire kids to get help.
The donation came from a Community Fund run by The Barratt Foundation, which helps local groups. Adams says the donation shows real community interest and that Barratt and David Wilson Homes care about the neighborhoods they build in.
Campbell Gregg, who runs Barratt and David Wilson Homes Southern, said they are proud to support the reading program, as it helps improve school for Oxfordshire students. Gregg hopes their money helps the charity and that kids get the benefit of the reading volunteers who do fantastic and important work in schools.
