A plan to split a Sydenham home into two is under review. Concerns raised about size, details, and parking availability.

The council will decide on February 19. South Oxfordshire District Council’s committee makes the call. Planning officers suggest granting permission for this project.
Not everyone agrees with the plan. Sydenham Parish Council objects. One local resident also expressed concerns about it.
The council lacks important details. They do not know the room functions or sizes. It is unclear how many bedrooms each place will have. The garage’s future is also uncertain. Will it stay a garage, or become living space?
They think the plot is too crowded. Buildings are too close together, they noted.
Christopher Hood also lives on Holliers Close. He thinks the building overwhelms the site. It is too tall and wide. He says there’s not much garden left. He also feels off-street parking is inadequate.
Planning officers disagree with objections. They claim the changes do not harm the area’s look. Neighbors won’t be bothered unreasonably. Each home has decent private space. Off-road parking is sufficient, they stated. The proposal meets planning rules, they concluded.
