Nicholas Horton received nine months in jail for violating a restraining order multiple times against his ex-partner.

He broke the restraining order three times last year. These incidents occurred in January, July, and August. The order started in October 2022. Horton contacted his ex on Facebook. He used a fake name as a joke.
He also let her live with him for a week or more. The judge sentenced him to nine months. The judge said Horton keeps breaking the order. Nothing seems to stop his actions. He is responsible for following the order.
In January, his ex-partner called emergency services. She told someone to get away from her. Police went to the address. They found she had been living with Horton. In July, she got a friend request on Facebook. The profile name was “Duncan Disorderly.” The fake account wanted to take her out. It offered lunch and coffee, calling her thrice.
In August, she received a message. The picture showed a letter. It contained Horton’s address from the council. He has many past convictions, including ones involving her. His lawyer explained their relationship was complex.
She said the breaches were similar. There was contact on both sides, she noted. The woman has had problems and lost loved ones. Horton thought he was helping her. The judge knew about mutual contact. Still, Horton was responsible to obey the order.
He received a new five-year restraining order. This order protects the woman.
