Lynn Sawyer used to hunt foxes. Now, she helps hunt saboteurs in Three Counties. She stopped the Heythrop Hunt using her knowledge of hunt commands.

Hounds chased a fox through Moors Wood in Steeple Barton when Sawyer stepped in. Sawyer said it was a normal day and she was happy she saved the fox.

She claims hunts still chase and kill foxes, hiding it from people. The Heythrop Hunt disagrees with the footage, saying they did nothing illegal.

Emily Lawrence works for an animal welfare charity. She says hunts use “trail hunting” as a cover to hide fox hunting from the public and courts. She wants a ban on trail hunting and tougher penalties for lawbreakers, believing the time for change is now.

The incident happened on February 13th and someone reported it to Thames Valley Police. Lawrence says they get many reports of fox chases and believes Lynn’s bravery saved the fox. She wants to end this “blood sport”.

The Heythrop Hunt says they follow the law. Anti-hunt activists film them often. The hunt claims the activists edit videos to push their animal rights ideas. The video shows wildlife moving around, and the hunt sees no illegal activity.

The hunt worries about a substance an activist sprayed on the land, which could harm the hounds or wildlife. The hunt asks them to stop interfering. Hounds recently ran through Ed Miliband’s garden in Claydon, near Bicester.
