New parking ticket machines vandalised in Leeds at popular parks. Police investigate, increased patrols planned.

The Leeds City Council mentioned the vandalism. Despite the damages, people still must pay, as parking charges began Monday at these locations. Police are checking out what happened and are investigating both incidents now.
Local cops will patrol those areas more often, hoping to catch the people responsible. It is a real shame this happened so soon.
The council said they know people dislike the parking fees. Damaging the machines solves nothing, though. They ask anyone with info to speak up, as your help could stop future damage.
Parking money helps keep our parks nice. Vandalism hurts the visitor experience greatly, but you still need to pay for parking, even with broken machines, although options are limited right now.
You can pay by phone, app, or yearly pass. Someone damaged the payment options already. Police are looking into damage at those two parks.
Cops from the local team are patrolling more often lately. They want to find the people who did this and are asking the public to call 101 if you know anything about it. Please cite crime reference 13250078780.
Parking fees started at five parks on Monday. This includes Golden Acre, Otley Chevin, and Roundhay Park. Also, Temple Newsam and Middleton Park now have charges as the council faces big budget issues right now.
It costs £4 for a full day of parking. A season ticket costs £80 for all Leeds parks. This works out to be about £1.50 each week. Blue badge holders can still park free.
