Jamie Mackie seeks approval to sell treats from a van in Haylodge Park, addressing location and child access concerns.

Some people worried about his first spot choice. It was near benches and park toilets. Someone thought a better spot existed. This was a paved zone by the entrance. Locals also had concerns that school kids might easily reach the van.
The group meets again on Wednesday. They will look at Mackie’s statement. He says he will move the van if needed. He wants to sell drinks, ice cream, and cakes. The hours would be 10 AM to 3 PM on those days.
Mackie said he’d adjust to feedback later. He hopes to make changes based on suggestions. He confirmed it’s weekends mostly, so school kids shouldn’t often be present there. He wants to switch from Tweed Green to Haylodge because more people visit Haylodge, he thinks.
He will only work two days combined. This covers Victoria Park, Tweed Green, and Haylodge. He usually works Saturdays and Sundays. He wants flexible weekday hours, though, since good weather makes this beneficial for him.
