Jonathan Evans of Penycae was fined £120 and banned from driving for 14 months for drug driving in Pentrebychan.

Evans said he drove with too much cannabis in his blood, which occurred last November in Pentrebychan. He also admitted he had cannabis then.
The prosecutor, Rachel Drew, spoke in court. She said police saw Evans’ car around 2 AM with a broken headlight in Wrexham.
Officers stopped Evans and smelled cannabis in his car. They found some cannabis inside after a search, and his drug test was over the limit.
Ceri Lewis was defending Evans. She said he cooperated with police and admitted to buying cannabis. She mentioned he has mental health problems, including panic attacks.
Lewis explained Evans was self-medicating but now sees his doctor and takes prescribed medicine. He has improved his life, according to Lewis.
The court gave Evans a six-month conditional discharge for the cannabis possession. He also received a £120 fine for driving under the influence.
Evans has to pay £85 in costs and a £48 surcharge. He cannot drive for 14 months due to the ban.
