Resident starts petition against costly talking bins. They are overpriced, poorly placed, and a waste of money, he argues.

Local resident Adrian Munn started a petition and sent it to the council’s panel. The panel focuses on services and results. Adrian thinks the bins are too pricey. He says they should test things first, then the council could roll them out.
He wants the council to stop buying them unless they show it’s smart. He thinks they waste money right now. The new bins cost way more than normal ones, he says.
They are also in bad spots, he says. Salt will damage these metal bins fast. Many bins don’t work or get stuck easily.
Adrian isn’t against better bins overall, however, he thinks it’s silly spending so much, without a plan. Ayr’s Siobhian Brown supports the resident’s petition.
She believes the money could help bigger needs. There are more pressing concerns. She thinks this project wastes money. The council should spend on key services instead. Residents worry, she says.
A council spokesperson knew about the petition. They decide if the panel should hear it. The council follows its own rules.
